If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to the Transportation Department at (509) 972-5590.

West Valley Transportation Department wants to ensure that all students in our district always have a safe and positive bus riding experience. We use the Positive Behavior Intervention System (P.B.I.S) throughout our district, in which our school staff, bus drivers, and department administrators acknowledge and reward positive behaviors, educate students on B.U.S. expectations (Be Responsible, Use Safety, Show Respect), and follow a progressive consequence method when expectations are not met.

The West Valley School District uses the FlashAlert system to communicate with families regarding school closures due to inclement weather.

    • Safe walking/biking routes to school have been identified for each school site. Click here for the safe routes link
  • For school cancelations, alternate snow stops or delays, please do not call the transportation office, instead please access our district website or call the snow line at 509-972-6002. The snow line is updated daily by 5:30 AM.

Any time the District delays the start of school or believes pre-identified stops to be hazardous for buses, your child(ren) are requested to go the “alternate bus stop”. Delay of start time and alternate bus stops will be broadcast over the snow information line at 509-972-6002 or on the school district web page. We will also do our best to contact local radio and television stations in the morning. Your best source for information will be the snow line or the District Website.

IF ALTERNATE STOPS ARE CALLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, ALTERNATE STOPS WILL RUN BOTH IN THE AM AND PM.

Those who have alternate snow stops have been contacted/notified.
