West Valley High School – School-Wide Program
West Valley Mid-Level – Targeted Assistance Program
Title I, Part A is a federal program that provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and public schools with high numbers or high percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Title I, Part A is a formula grant program for "improving the academic achievement of the disadvantaged." Learning Assistance Program (LAP) is a state program that serves eligible students who need academic support for reading, writing, and/or math, or who need readiness skills to learn these core subjects. With special emphasis on reading literacy in the early grades, schools use their State LAP funds to deliver supplemental services that give these students the strong start they need for academic success. Con especial énfasis en la alfabetización lectora en los primeros grados, las escuelas utilizan sus fondos estatales de LAP para brindar servicios suplementarios que brindan a estos estudiantes el comienzo sólido que necesitan para el éxito académico. The Student Support and Academic Enrichment (Title IV, Part A) program provides funding to improve students’ academic achievement by increasing school district capacity to provide all students with access, to a well-rounded education, improve school conditions for student learning, improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students.

The West Valley School District Native American Education Program is designed to address the unique cultural, language, and educationally-related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) students, including preschool children, who are:
- A member of an Indian tribe or band, as membership is defined by the Indian tribe or band, including any tribe or band terminated since 1940, and any tribe or band recognized by the State in which the tribe or band resides;
- A descendant of a parent or grandparent who meets the requirements described in paragraph of this definition;
- Considered by the Secretary of the Interior to be an Indian for any purpose;
- An Eskimo, Aleut, or other Alaska Native; or
- A member of an organized Indian group that received a grant under the Indian Education Act of 1988 as it was in effect on October 19, 1994.
We are funded through a federal grant under Title VI of the Elementary and Secondary Edcuaiton Act. The amount of funds is determined by the number of students officailly registered in our progran, These funds support cultural enrichment through:
- Parent Involvement
- Family Nights that include cultural arta and language instruction
- High School Student Leadership Opportunities
Growing Great Kids is a program that prepares young children (Prenatal to Age 5) for success in school. Growing Great Kids provides families with strategies on how to engage children in early learning. If your family has a young child between the ages of 0-5, you may be eligible for this program. Early intervention is key!
