Meet Ryan McDaniel

West Valley School District is proud to welcome Ryan McDaniel, the new Assistant Superintendent for Educational Support Services. With more than 26 years of experience in education, Mr. McDaniel brings a deep passion for student success and strong leadership skills to our district.

Mr. McDaniel has worked as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Most recently, he served as principal at East Valley High School. He holds a degree in Mathematics Education from Central Washington University, a master’s in Educational Administration, and a Superintendent Certificate. He is well-prepared to serve the students, staff, and community in West Valley.

In his new role, Mr. McDaniel is eager to collaborate, deepen his understanding, and use his skills to support WVSD’s strategic plan. That means working with staff, families, and the community to make improvements in the systems that support student learning. With this focus on building strong relationships, Mr. McDaniel is eager to ensure all students find hope and opportunity in our schools.

"My job is to remove barriers," Mr. McDaniel says. "I recognize the critical importance of building strong relationships, actively listening to stakeholders, engaging those closest to the work, and maintaining high visibility across the organization. I believe in challenging the status quo by encouraging others to reimagine how we approach education and fostering an environment where visionary thinking is not only welcomed but supported.”

Outside of work, Mr. McDaniel stays busy with his wife and four active sons, ages 12 to 22. Welcome to the West Valley School District, Mr. McDaniel!

Con más de 26 años de experiencia en el ámbito educativo, Sr. McDaniel aporta a nuestro distrito una profunda pasión por el éxito de los estudiantes y sólidas habilidades de liderazgo.

Sr. McDaniel ha trabajado como profesor, subdirector y director. Más recientemente, ha sido director de la East Valley High School. Es licenciado en Educación Matemática por la Central Washington University, tiene un máster en Administración Educativa y un certificado de superintendente. Está perfectamente preparado para servir a los estudiantes, al personal y a la comunidad de West Valley.

En su nuevo cargo, Sr. McDaniel está deseando colaborar, profundizar en sus conocimientos y utilizar sus habilidades para apoyar el plan estratégico del WVSD. Eso significa trabajar con el personal, las familias y la comunidad para mejorar los sistemas que apoyan el aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Con este enfoque en la construcción de relaciones sólidas, Sr. McDaniel está deseando garantizar que todos los estudiantes encuentren esperanza y oportunidades en nuestras escuelas.

"Mi trabajo consiste en eliminar barreras," afirma Sr. McDaniel. "Reconozco la importancia fundamental de establecer relaciones sólidas, escuchar activamente a las partes interesadas, involucrar a las personas más cercanas al trabajo y mantener una alta visibilidad en toda la organización. Creo en desafiar el status quo animando a otros a reimaginar cómo abordamos la educación y fomentando un entorno en el que el pensamiento visionario no solo sea bienvenido, sino también apoyado."
