Unique and Exciting Offerings at West Valley Mid-Level Campus
West Valley’s Mid-Level Campus is a hub of creative expression and acceptance. With a wide range of before and after-school activities, students have the opportunity to explore their interests and connect with their peers and teachers. Among the many clubs available, Safe Space and Relax & Create stand out as two unique and exciting opportunities for students.
Safe Space, facilitated by Melissa Ellis, is a club for LGBTQ+ students and their allies to come together and be accepted for who they are. This club offers a safe space for students to be themselves and find support among like-minded individuals.
Relax & Create, led by Jodi Scott, is a place for students to de-stress, explore their artistic side, and work on their own projects. From drawing lessons to hand-lettering, to journal-making and scrapbooking, students can expect to find a variety of creative activities to choose from.
“Art clubs are popular at the Middle-Level Campus,” Jodi says, “and Relax & Create provides another opportunity for students to engage in arts and crafts, perhaps in a way that is a little different from a traditional art club.”
The addition of these clubs better serves the students by providing them with a sense of belonging and the opportunity to connect with their peers and teachers. The clubs are unique and exciting because they offer a safe and positive environment for students to express themselves openly and creatively.

At WVSD, we love seeing our staff provide opportunities for students to have a positive connection to school. Our hope is that by providing before and after-school activities, students are able to make connections with staff and other students.
