Hybrid & Remote Learning

Hybrid and Remote learning information below

Dear Families and Friends,

We hope this will provide you with a better understanding of what your child’s day will be like at the West Valley Middle Level Campus. More than ever, we are dedicated to providing a safe and high quality education to our students and having a positive impact within our communities. We thank you for your patience, support, and understanding.

The following provides a brief overview of our Hybrid Learning Option and our Remote Learning Option for grades 5-12.

The Hybrid Learning option allows students to return to in person learning two days of the week. In this model, students will also be required to participate in asynchronous learning as assigned by their teachers Monday - Friday.
In the Remote Learning Option, students will continue to learn online through accessing Zoom and asynchronous work on Google Classroom.
All classes will be available for students to enroll in. This includes all CORE classes as well as all elective classes.

Remote students will be given instruction from West Valley teachers in the four CORE classes that include:

  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Reading/Writing
There will not be elective class opportunities in the Remote Learning Option.
  • Group A (Alphabet A-L) attends in person Monday and Thursday and completes asynchronous work from home Monday - Friday as assigned by their teachers.
  • Group B (Alphabet M-Z) attends in person Tuesday and Friday and completes asynchronous work from home Monday - Friday as assigned by their teachers.

Asynchronous learning is learning done outside of the physical or virtual classroom. During asynchronous learning days, students have no scheduled time with their teachers, but may reach out to their teachers with any questions.

Asynchronous learning activities may consist of:

  • Homework
  • Outside classroom assignments
  • Assigned videos
  • Google classroom activities

Please contact your school with any questions or changes to your declaration.
