We work on testing strategies, positive presentation of the student in the classroom setting, and re-testing as needed when the student has not been successful in the general education classroom due to lack of time to finish a test, or trouble reading the material. Expect your student to have homework three or four times a week in their general education classes. We will check their homework each day in study skills, and you can do the same from home via the computer.

PART 2

CLASSROOM RULES

1. ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST WORK . Therefore be on time for class. Enter the room quickly and quietly. Begin the entry task promptly. Participate in class discussions. Bring, pencil, black or blue pen, paper and required books to class. Remember to go to your locker before class and to leave your backpack in your locker. Work for a quality project or assignment.

2 . WORK COOPERATIVELY AND COMPLETE YOUR ASSIGNMENTS ON TIME.

No student has the right to interrupt the learning opportunities of others. Students need to respect each other’s space and feelings. You will get more work accomplished if it is done cooperatively. We all need to get along if any of us are to be successful.

3. LISTEN AND LOOK TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS .

You will gain much more from a lesson if you look at the overhead or the whiteboard and look and listen for instructions. Success begins with an eagerness to listen and follow directions. Also a visual aid can help you understand what the lesson is about, so sit where you can see the overhead, whiteboard, maps etc…

4. RAISE YOUR HAND FOR QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS .

To make sure you are helped, raise your hand as a visual signal you wish to speak. The teacher will tell you when an activity is a hand raising activity. (Examples: tests, lectures, or class discussions.)

PART 3 DISCIPLINARY ACTION:

Disciplinary actions follows the building and district guidelines. Consult the Student handbook. I also have a step procedure for my classroom rules and procedures. Violations: (in one school day, excluding being tardy) In emergency situations the teacher will go to step 4 and 5 immediately.

4 th infraction: I will phone mom and dad and we will set up a conference.

5 th. Infraction: Discipline referral to Mr. Schend, Assistant Principal.
