CLASSROOM RULES and SYLLABUS -- MR. BERGER WEST VALLEY JR. HIGH 1) Follow the teacher’s directions.... ALWAYS!! If you have a question about a direction, raise your hand, wait to be called on, and ask it in a respectful manner. 2) You are expected to come to class prepared to do your work. Bring your stuff to class, except backpacks, so you won't have to go back to your locker. Stuff is your pen in blue or black ink only, your pencil, your paper, your books, and your binder. Backpacks must be left in your locker as per building policy. 3) Be IN your seat when the bell begins to ring not in the doorway. Do not wander around the room. Do not come running in the door at the bell. If you are not in your seat when the second bell begins to ring, you are NOT ready to work! You will be counted TARDY. Be seated and get ready to start working. 4) Mind your own business. Keep your hands, arms, legs, feet, nose, mouth, comments, and all other appendages and/or instruments to yourself; this will eliminate 99% of the problems in class! 5) Raise your hand and wait to be called on before you speak in class. Please do not interrupt when someone is speaking; this is rude and inconsiderate. 6) Please do not eat, drink, or chew anything in class, especially gum, unless you have Mr. Berger's permission. Eating and chewing gum will result in a DETENTION. Everyone has a lunch period for this activity. 7) Profane, abusive, or ridiculing language should not be used or tolerated by anyone in class. If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all. 8) Please do you own work. Do not copy someone else’s work from any source, or give someone your work to hand in as their own. This cheating is called plagiarism. 9) Always try to do your best. I expect you to ALWAYS try, no matter how hard a job may seem, at least try!!
CONSEQUENCES
Note: Consequences for Plagiarism: 1) Student will receive a “0” grade on the assignment, test, project, etc. 2) There will be NO opportunity for making up the “0” grade received for Plagiarism. 3) Both students involved in the Plagiarism will receive the “0” grade.
These steps will be modified as needed and in accordance with building policies. I understand these rules and consequences and I realize they are for the benefit and safety of everyone in the class. *************************************************************************************************************** Student signature_______________________________________________________
