TIMELINE:

  • August-September (updating, resume, accomplishments, cover letter, thank you letter etc and working on project proposal and finding mentor)
  • October-December (develop action plan and start working on project,service learning hours, keeping service learning log, and having mentor evaluate you periodically... if not finished, using project checklist to make sure all necessary parts of project are completed)
  • January(project is completed, now work on reflection paper)
  • February (work on finishing up 13th year plan)
  • March (start preparing/practicing oral presentation)
  • April (give final presentation)
  • May (gather all necessary items for portfolio and turn it in completed)
  • June (graduation)

Notes to Seniors regarding oral presentations:

  • Senior presentations will be scheduled every 20 minutes.Student presentations will be 10-12 minutes in length with 5 minutes max reserved for questions and answers.
  • The first presentation will start at 8:00 am.
  • All students presenting for a specific day need to be at school by 7:30 am to set up their powerpoint, video clips etc. The students will watch each others presentations that day.
  • A program will be provided for all people attending projects that lists the names and project topic for each senior.
  • A powerpoint presentation is required by all students but students may use and are encouraged to use additional visual aids .
  • The mentor needs to be present at the oral presenation.
  • Students need to dress appropriately. No jeans, t-shirts, tanks, revealing clothes etc. Best dress is mandatory.
