Math Fundamentals Course Syllabus

This class is designed by aligning the 9th and 10th grade Math GLE's with the A+ Lessons used in the West Valley Night School Program. The A+ Lessons were then aligned with the Math WASL problems published by OSPI. The result is a class that focuses on the specific math content that the state has identified as important for graduation from high school in the State of Washington.

Your math course will be complete when you are done with THREE things:

  1. A+ Mastery Tests (80% or better on each one)
  2. WASL Released Items in worksheet packets (70% on each packet) - Get worksheet packets from your teacher
  3. Math Notebook

Generally student find it easiest to do the A+ to learn the basic concept and then go to the Released Item to apply that concept. In a math class it often does make sense to do the activities in order because the concepts build on previous material.

PLEASE ASK FOR HELP IF YOU HAVE TRIED A LESSON THREE TIMES AND ARE STILL STUCK. We want you to learn, not to be stuck!

KEEP ALL YOUR NOTES from the A+ Lessons and any paper you use to work on the problems on tests. You will turn these in as a graded assignment.
