Fix Me Up

Print this page. Each of the following paragraphs is part of a larger paper (but not the same paper). YOU must act as the teacher. Go through the writing offering your suggestions for "fixing" the mistakes. Look for spelling and grammar, capitalization and punctuation, poor word choices, tense shifts, awkward or fragment sentences - all of it!

Make each piece better!

Finally, retype each of the paragraphs and use your own advice when you retype it as a "final draft." If your teacher has to mark it up at all - you are not done. Get it perfect!

What to turn in:

  1. This page with your editing marks.
  2. Retyped paragraphs with NO mistakes.

Popeye is a famously cartoon from the history. Well, you no he is the one that has big arm muscles becuz he ates spinache. People liked to read about Him getting out of trouble spots by his luck and His strength. Pop-eye was in the navy so I guess that is why he is always drawed hanging out on the docks. Even though it is like old-fashioned to us nowadays. He was like way popular a while back.

I don't know if you care about how much it costs to buy gas. But to a teenager it is just way to much money. It seem's like the price of gas goe's up every day to me. I mean, more than 2$ for a gallon is just like totally unfare. I worked hard for the gas money I have and I have to borrow more just for the rest of the week sometimes. Well, I think the government should give gas coupons to poor people just like how they do for medical coupons if you are too poor to go the doctor. I think this is the #1 problem the government should fix I mean what else are they doing anyways.
