The Misson Of JROTC is to Motivate Young People to Become Better Citizens.
Mission of the Army:(top)
The mission of the army is to protect, defend, and uphold the constitution of the United States of America from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Cadet Creed:(top)
I am an Army Junior ROTC Cadet.
I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school and the Corps of
Cadets.
I am loyal and patriotic.
I am the future of the United States of America.
I do not lie, cheat or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds.
I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism.
I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body.
I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and
the American way of life.
May God grant me the strength to always live by this creed.
General Orders:(top)
1st General Order: I will guard everything with in the limits of my post and quite my post only when properly _____relived.
2nd General Order: I will obey all my special orders and perform all my duties in a military manner.
3rd General Order: I will report any violations, emergencies, or anything not covered in my instruction to the _____commander of the relief.

Button Information:
Buttons consist of a bald Eagle, our national bird, with 13 arrows in its left claw, symbolizing war, and an olive branch with 13 leaves in its right claw, symbolizing peace. In its mouth, it holds a banner that reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM” meaning “one people united.” It is flying under 13 stars. The constant number 13 represents the original 13 colonies.
There are 6 buttons of the female Class ‘A’ Jacket, and 10 on the male jacket.

West Valley/Unit Identifier – Worn on the right shoulder

Gold - Honor Unit with Distinction. Awarded to the schools in the top 10% of their inspection* class
Blue - Honor Unit. Awarder to the schools in the top 20% of their inspection* Class

Head erect and held squarely.
Look straight forward, eyes not moving.
Remain silent unless spoken to.
Shoulders square and even.
Chest lifted and arched.
Body Erect.
Arms hanging straight with out stiffness, back of hands outwards.
Thumbs along seem of trousers.
Tips of thumb touching 2nd joint of forefinger.
Legs straight without knees locking.
Weight placed evenly between the balls and heels of feet.
Toes at a 45-degree angle.

14th June 1775 - Flag Day and Army's birthday
1818 - Congress passed a new act, stating that whenever a new state was added to the union on the following fourth of July a star would be added to the flag
1819 - Captain Partridge started the first ROTC program in Norwich University, Vermont
1862 - Moral Act was passed by Congress, promising land and money to colleges that would offer military courses along with regular programs
1916 - National Defense Act was passed by Congress; ROTC became on official Program
1973 - Women where allowed into JROTC and JROTC was no longer mandatory
1984 - First female battalion commander
