On January 16th DECA competitors went to Wenatchee for the area 10 competition conference. There were seventeen competitors from West Valley DECA trying to advance to the state competition. Ten of the seventeen competitors qualified to go to state in March. The members that qualified are Jacob Wilcox, Kenny Thompson, Brenton VanAmburg, Kristi Gohl, Haley Holmes, Ashley George, Caroline Wenker, Brittany Russell, and Cassie Coltrane.
Brenton VanAmburg on the Area 10 Competition:
"The Area 10 Conference was a very interesting and awesome experience. I learned how to talk to business people and mature myself enough to have an intellectual conversation. Overall, the conference has helped me to become a better person and contributor to the community."
