US Territories

Use a blank world map and label the US Territories. You are welcome to use a key and color to enhance the map. Also label the relevant water and physical features that are near or in the territories. Somewhere on the map you should include the definition for a "territory."

As you study the lesson, and perhaps do outside research, make a Venn Diagram or a 3-column chart that shows how US States and US Territories are similar and different.

What do you turn in?

  1. A world map that shows the US Territories and other relevant information
  2. A compare/contrast graphic organizer for states and territories

Grading Information:

A The map is polished and doesn't leave any questions or obvious blanks. The graphic organizer also looks professional and shows some thinking beyond the basics. Neither include errors/typos.
B The map shows what is required in a tidy way with a few extras. The graphic organizer is fairly basic but includes no errors.
C Territories and very little else is labeled. The map uses some color, but not much. The graphic organizer is very basic.
