Language Arts
These courses will help you improve your reading comprehension and writing
skills. For most, you must read at least two novels - so check them out
early and get in the habit of reading, daily, so the novels don't hold
you back from earning this credit.
Whenever you type a paper - SAVE IT - so you can easily make changes
as you work from a draft to a final paper. You will get most essays back
at least once for revision.
Read the Syllabus carefully so you organize the work properly and don't
do any extra work. To complete the course in 6 weeks, you should figure
out how many of the assignments you need to complete on a weekly basis
so you can set the right pace.
WVHS students must complete 8 Language Arts courses (4.0 credits) to
graduate. Additional courses may be completed as electives. The 9th and
10th grade courses must be the traditional 9A, 9B, 10A and 10B classes.
In the 11th and 12th grade, the student should work with the teacher/couselor
to determine which courses will best help them meet their goals.
