Ancient Empire Maps

Materials Needed:
Map Packet of World, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome. (in file drawers in NS classroom)
Textbooks, atlases, the Internet and other mapping resources

Assignment:
Big Picture - you will be using the maps to show two things.

That you know where these ancient civilizations where and what they controlled.
That you know how to make a neat, accurate and user-friendly map. Use colors, shading, outlining, etc. to make the maps look professional and so it is easy to see what you learned.

Grading

Refer to this rubric as you work to ensure you will get the grade you are working for.

A	These maps include more than the items listed, make effective use of color and other symbols (explained in a key) and are accurate. The neatness and organization of the maps show careful planning.
B	These maps label all that is asked for and use color. Parts of the maps may be crammed or hard to read, but the overall quality is still high.
C	These maps complete the bare minimum on the lists and are accurate.
