2008 Yearbooks!
The 2008 Yearbooks will go on
sale from Oct 2 - Oct. 19. The cost is $45.00 for the all color
spring delivery Yearbook. You can purchase them before/after school
or during lunches.
Senior Pictures
Senior pictures for the Yearbook are due
November 30, 2007. They must be 1.5 " X 2". If submitted digitally
(jpeg) they must be at least 300 dpi. They may be submitted via
email (ponchenea@wvsd208.org) as an attachment or on a CD. Also the
pictures must be "headshots"…not your vehicle, plane, horse, dog,
etc. All other pictures should be dropped off in the office.

ID Badges
At West Valley High School we will make every effort
possible to provide a safe and secure educational environment for
your student. As in many educational institutions and the work
force, ID Badges are rapidly becoming a component of a safe and
secure environment. As a result of the Safe Schools Act we have been
asked to continue our requirement that all students, staff, and
visitors at WVHS wear ID badges during school and library hours
(7:00am - 4:00pm). We ask that all parents support our efforts to
raise the security of our school and help the staff in ensuring that
students wear their ID badges each day, all day. Because of this our
procedure for dealing with ID badges is included for your review.
- Staff will be asked to monitor students in hallways before,
between, and after class periods. Students must visibly wear their
ID badge at all times during the school day.
- Teachers will send an e-mail to the office identifying
students who do not have an ID Badge or have a badge that is
permanently mutilated or defaced. The office staff will then
create an ID badge for the students identified on the e-mail for a
fee of $5.00. The ID badges will then be delivered to those
students before the end of class. Upon the third offense, parents
will be notified that their student has 1 hour of restituion and
has either paid their replacements ($5.00 per ID badge, $2.00 per
lanyard) or that they have been placed on the fine list.
- Students who are on the fine list will not be allowed to
participate in ANY co-curricular activities (sports, ASB, clubs,
dances, etc.). Advisors and coaches will be expected to
communicate this to participants early in the week and hold
students out of participation as needed.
- Repeated occurrences will be dealt with via parent conference
and eventually the progressive discipline policy as
insubordination.
