Junior Year Goal Statements

This assignment is designed to help you learn how to make realistic goals. Goal-setting is considered one of the keys to making your dreams more than dreams. They are the steps you design to get from being a HS kid, to being the grown-up you wish to be. It doesn't usually happen by acciddent!

First, lets brainstorm some goals statements. Please make this grid and fill it in for yourself. Examples are in the grid - make up your own.

Wildcard learn about real estate investing by reading 2 books I have save money for one big trip out of the country every other year (China, Petra, Peru, etc.)

Now, let's talk about goals. Goals are not wishes or hopes - they have a very specific meaning. To learn how to write goals that are powerful and worthwhile, you are going to learn the SMART goal system. Please read through all 5 criteria until you are sure you understand what makes a good goal. On the same sheet as your grid, keep notes on what SMART stands for.

Next, take your goals from your grid and rewrite them so that they meet the 5 criteria you just learned. Make them work or you get to do new ones!

Finally, you have two worksheets to complete. Follow the instructions, do good work and staple all three pages (notes and 2 worksheets) together to turn in. Be prepared to discuss your goals with your teacher.
