1. When was the Baroque period?
2. Explain how composers were like servants.
3. How did the famous composers of the day work together to create the new Baroque-style music?
4. Name and define the three new types of music that appeared during this period.
5. Listen to one concerto of your choice. (Type Bach, Vivaldi, or another Baroque composer, and the word concerto into any search engine. Choose a concerto and listen to it!) Which instrument played a solo? What was the name of the concerto?
6. Write a 1-2 page report on Arp Schnitger, Gottfried Silberman, or one of the famous Baroque composers.
7. Listen to 5 hours of music that was written by composers of the Baroque Period. (You can borrow CD's from the library, listen to a classical station in your area or online, listen to music online at sites that tell about specific composers, borrow CD's from a friend or relative…be creative!)
8. Record the names of the composers and the pieces you listened to.
