Experience Houghton-Mifflin Reading preferred
Experience teaching Growing With Mathematics preferred
Knowledge of the writing process and six traits
Primary teaching experience preferred
Knowledge of GLE’s for reading, math, science
Knowledge and experience with DRA assessment and ability to use that information to form groups for instruction
Knowledge of EALR’s and grade level expectations for reading and writing
Familiarity with the use of a standards-based report card
Be a contributing team member with 2nd grade team and cross grade level experience.
Sense of humor and positive, professional attitude a must
Proven ability to handle student discipline problems
Evidence of maintaining a positive, productive learning climate within the classroom, as well as with parents and colleagues
Demonstrate commitment to success for all students

All new employees must complete fingerprint and drug screening process before employment. The cost to the employee is approximately $100.00.
