Job Requirements-

• Must hold or be eligible for C.T.E. certification and have a degree in mathematics or 6,000 hours of industry experience.
• Experience using math in industry.
• Plan, organize, and provide visual and hands on experiences for math students.
• Strong background and experience in teaching math applications.
• Willingness to engage in C.T.E. student leadership.
• Demonstrated evidence of classroom management skills.
• Ability to articulate and implement Washington State Essential Learning Requirements.
• Demonstrated interest in and ability to work successfully with students, staff and community.
• Successful high school teaching experience is desired, not required.
• Experience with or knowledge of a six-period schedule is desired.
• Experience and/or training with cultural, ethnic language and learning diversity desired.

 

Essential Job Functions-

• Plans, organizes, and provides learning experiences to best meet the needs of students in mathematics education. Teaches to the OSPI approved frameworks.

• Implements district adopted curriculum and assessment.
• Develops and modifies instructional programs to meet individual needs.
• Provides assistance and academic support to individual students.
• Refers students with special needs to appropriate resources.
• Reports regularly to parents and is responsive to parental concerns.
• Maintains student records including daily grades, attendance reports and others as required.
• Enforces school rules and monitors student behavior in classroom and non-classroom settings.
• Incorporates the teaching of writing and higher level thinking skills into instructional program.
• Fulfills Career and Technical Education leadership and advisory council expectations.
• Participates in staff and departmental meetings
• Meets deadlines and fulfills contract obligations.
• Works cooperatively with other staff, administrators, parents and students.
• Incorporates the teaching of math concepts.
