Re: Important Dates for 2011-2012

With negotiations continuing between the West Valley Education Association and the West Valley School District, the issues of professional development days and teacher training as well as any potential placement of these days are still under consideration. With this understanding, we are providing you with important dates that we do know at this time so that you can plan around them during the 2011-2012 school year.

August 30th	First Day of School
September 5th	Labor Day - No School
October 14th	Non-Work Day - No School
November 11th	Veteran’s Day - No School
November 14th - 18th	K-6 Parent Conference Week	K-4 Early Release - 12:10
		5-8 Early Release - 11:00
November 23rd	Non-Work Day - No School
November 24th - 25th	Thanksgiving Break - No School
December 19th - January 2nd	Winter Break - No School
January 16th	MLK Day - No School
February 20th	President’s Day - No School
March 26th - 30th	K-9 Parent Conference Week	K-4 Early Release - 12:10
		5-8 Early Release - 11:00
April 2nd - 6th	Spring Break - No School
May 28th	Memorial Day - No School
June 8th	High School Graduation
June 12th	Last Day of School	K-4 Early Release - 11:10
		5-12 Early Realease - 10:00

The end of first semester could be affected by the agreement on teacher training, professional development days, as well as the last day of school. Please use this list of important dates for now to guide your planning with your family.
