Welcome Back West Valley Students and Families! (1)

We hope you have had a restful and fun summer! We are looking forward to another vibrant year in the West Valley School District. Each school year, fall brings with it the promise of new students and a fresh start for all of us to kindle a deeper love of learning. We’re committed to bringing you the very best quality instruction and will share updates throughout the year of ways we’re engaging with students in new, exciting ways.

This year, we’re continuing our ENGAGE Blended Learning Initiative, which blends teaching and technology to provide for the best possible learning environment. Grades 5-12 will receive a Chromebook to use at school and home, and grades 3-4 will have personal Chromebook access at school. It is a very exciting time here in West Valley!

I’d also like to highlight some recent accomplishments:

2016-17 Washington Achievement Awards

Apple Valley Elementary

Summitview Elementary

Wide Hollow Elementary

2016 Washington School of Distinction

Apple Valley Elementary

District Administration Magazine

2017 District of Distinction for Step 5: Career and College Readiness

International Center for Leadership in Education

2017 Innovative District Recognition for Pre-K Initiative and Career and College Readiness

2017-18 promises to be another outstanding year in West Valley School District!

Thank you for partnering with us this year as we give our all to West Valley students—we’re proud of the people they are and consider our work with them a privilege!

I look forward to hearing from you with any questions or ideas on how we can continually improve! Please contact me at brophym@wvsd208.org or 509-972-6005.
