West Valley Senior, Elly Teske, Wins 2017 Congressional High School Art Competition

Representative Dan Newhouse announced the winners of the 2017 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in the Fourth District:

“I congratulate Elly Teske on her winning entry, and I am proud of all the student artists who submitted entries and participated in this year’s competition,” said Rep. Newhouse. “The talent and creativity of these young artists made it a very difficult choice, and I would like to thank the community judges who helped review the artwork. I look forward to seeing the artwork created by Central Washington’s young people displayed in the U.S. Capitol for all visitors to enjoy, as well as in the Fourth District congressional offices in Yakima and the Tri-Cities.”

Elly’s winning entry, Heart Strings, will be hung in the U.S. Capitol alongside winning entries from congressional districts across the country for one year. She will visit Washington, D.C. to attend a reception sponsored by the Congressional Institute, which holds the annual competition.

Congratulations, Elly!
