Washington Achievement Awards for West Valley Schools

We are pleased to share that three of our district’s schools have earned Washington Achievement Awards this year! From statewide assessments, the Achievement Index measures student proficiency in math, English language arts, science, student growth, and college and career readiness. Educators, families, and community members can use the Index to identify areas of strength and improvement in Washington’s schools.

Schools are recognized in seven categories:

•      Overall Excellence

•      High Progress

•      English Language Arts Growth

•      Math Growth

•      Extended Graduation Rate

•      English Language Acquisition

•      Closing the Achievement Gap

Said State Superintendent Chris Reykdal, “I am proud to award nearly 300 schools with this honor. These schools help Washington lead the way in innovative education and access to high-quality learning opportunities. To all of those honored, thank you for your dedication to Washington students, families, and the future.”

West Valley’s Recipients are as follows:

Apple Valley Elementary – special recognition for Math Growth

Summitview Elementary – special recognition for English Language Acquisition Growth

Wide Hollow Elementary – special recognition for Math Growth & High Progress

These three schools are just another example of the outstanding work being done in our classrooms throughout the West Valley School District each and every day! Congratulations!
