Congratulations to senior J.J. Doria for receiving a silver Congressional Award from Congressman Newhouse this week! JJ had been working toward this goal for two years! The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ award for young Americans. It is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive. Instead, you are honored for achieving your own challenging goals.

Participants earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas: Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration.

Said Newhouse, “JJ has demonstrated a strong commitment to meet challenging goals for the betterment of himself and our community.”

Congratulations JJ! We’re proud of you for being recognized for your achievements. To read more in Yakima Herald about JJ’s goal and award, click here.
